Default Possible New Game Modes?

I am doing some new game modes. Not the usual Naval War, Nuke War, blah, blah, blah. I am trying something new.

One of my modes is the "Paradrop War". (Name pending.) I want the player to begin with a radar that shows the map and if it's destroyed, they lose. It's going to be similar to "Assault" I'm sure. But, can I do that, with no MCV?

The next one is "Tank Rush!" (Name also pending.) The player begins with a war factory of that faction. If it's destoyed, they lose. All you can get are tanks. Can I do that too? They can have an MCV with this one, I think.

They're going to be different. At least, I hope they are. And also, how do I make the AI respond more effectively to the new task?

The first mode is simple because you can use the Assault maps to do it. Just make your CAFLAG have Radar=yes, SpySat=yes, and give it the paradrop superweapon and there you go. If you add the "attack building (buildingtype number)" (where 'buildingtype number' is the number of your CAFLAG) to lots of attack scripts then you can make the AI seek to attack CAFLAGs.

The second mode will require you to make your own maps, or possibly mod the MCVs so they deploy into war factories instead of conyards. The AI will not work worth a damn in this mode, since the AI needs to feel secure in developing a refining operation before it turns to other matters.

Shit. I was afraid of that. Well dammit. Hmmm, modding the MCVs I can do. Not hard at all. I was afraid that the AI wouldn't be worth a fuck. Can I do the Tank Rush mode? Is it possible using Assault maps?

As for my PD Mode, can I make look like a radar for a better feel? Just Image=NARADR, etc. Do I have use existing Assault maps? If I do, I'll just include them. That's okay, isn't it? I give credit.

No you can't simply make CAFLAG Image=NARADR, since NARADR has a Foundation=2x2 and CAFLAG must have a Foundation=1x1.

And no you don't include the Assault maps, you instead send the user to download the Assault maps at the Assaultmaps site. The whole idea is so users don't have to download the same maps in every single mod they get - they only have to download the maps ONCE. This is one reason why redistribution of the Assault maps is not permitted - another very good reason is because the maps don't belong to you

When your mod is released, and it uses the Assault maps, you tell me about it, and I post a link to your mod on the Assault maps page.

Using the Assault maps page as a sort of clearinghouse also serves to let users know about other mods that use the maps. In this way, a user of one mod, who perhaps never heard of your mod, goes to get the maps for that mod he already has. Once there, he learns your mod can use the maps too. He then might decide to go get your mod. See how this works? It's better for EVERYONE

Oh. I see. That makes more sense anyway. I guess I'll have to get my mod hosted somewhere then....

you can get your mod hosted at my site but im having some server probs right now.....
Im part of the Lite Gaming Neetwork (EGN) and im the modding section, i can give u a url for my site shortly when i get the url sorted out. (getting a new 1)
