anyone?
I got your PM, but I prefer to post it so everyone can see it :
To import animations from a W3d file, you need an importer that does more then importing static models.
Curently there are 2 importers available, a simple one, use as Utiility tool that can only import static models, and a more advanced one, that can import animation, but is more complicated to install. you need to read the install procedure carefully and know how to customize your UI (adding buttons)
the importer you need is this one :

this w3d importer can import the animations then ?
Thanks
well can you tell me a link for the complicated version ? so I can start working righ away in them...
Thanks !
You need glasses !!!
IT IS the importer that can import animations...
Why do you think i've put that link in my previous posting? :tard:
Man I just asking because the guy from my mod that is actually in charge of animations and stuff told me that he already had this importer... well I will tell him to talk to you . Can you tell me your address of msn messenger ? if you have one . PLease so you can talk
Thanks a lot and sorry for my miss understanding... plus my english is not that good
I've been working on infantry and so far have managed to re-skin and using wwskin and spacewarp export the models to w3d and get them working ingame.
However, what I can't do is import the animations as I need to manipulate and produce my own infantry animations. I notice that this importer has a check box for animations but its always grayed out.
Can anyone guide me through the correct steps to import a skeleton with its animation.
I don' t really understand what the problem is.![]()
Just import the W3d files that are used as animations (not the SKN or SKL files). Just pick the file, hit the import button and you have your animation loaded in.... :dead:
You'll get a bunch of moving boxes (pivotpoints) that correspond with the ones you find in the skeleton file...
if you change the position of those bones, your animation will change also.
On the long run, i'm planning a maxscript tool that will make it a lot easier to make new animations, but for the moment my time is being used for modelling and skinning...so no time....
