Great New Infantry pictures from The Great Trench War!

[Uruk-Hai]

hey all,

We at The Great Trench War have been very busy the last few weeks with the creation of several infantry units. Due to great modeling by mongoose, and unexpected skinning from Uruk-Hai. we were able to create much standart infantry units that were used on the western front from 1914 untill 1918 And from 1918 untill 1920.


Tommy
"tommy" is the nickname for the standart British soldier during world war one. The tommy has a Lee-Enfield smle 1907 as his rifle.



Grenadier
The grenadier is the standart German soldier. His uniform has changed alot from 1914 untill 1916 he wares a pickhaube helmet, which is a spicked helmet, after that the Stahlhelm is introduced because of the fact that the pickhaube isnt save enough.
The german soldier carries a mauser rifle with him.


Poilu
The French common infantry soldier is the poilu. The poilu has a 'adrian' helmet and wares a trench coat. The poilu is equiped with a long 'lebel' rifle.


Doughboy
Doughboy is the name of the American soldiers send to Europe with the AEF (American Expeditionary Force). The soldier wares the same helmet as the British soldier. The doughboy fights with the Sprinfield '03 rifle.


Vickers HMG team
This is the common HMG used by the British army. The team consists out of three men: The gunner, who caries the gun when moving and fires the gun ones deployed. The ammunition soldier which caries the ammunition with him and keeps it ready to be fired. The support soldier, he keeps the gun stable when firing and brings the tripod with him when moving.


Maxim '08 HMG team
The maxim gun was quickly adopted by the german army and was used in many situations. The team has two soldiers: The first is the gunner he caries the gun on it's back and fires the gun when deployed. The second man is the ammunition man which supplies the ammunition to the gun and takes the ammunition box with him.


British Cavalry man
The British used cavalry as there main forces in the past. But they are rapidly changing there minds as in trench ware conditions during world war one cavarly is useless. Cavalry was used succesfull during the mesopotamian campaign (mesopotamian = the present Iraq).
The cavalry will have two attack options:
- "Cavarly Charge!" In this attack mode the cavalry soldier uses a spear and assaults the targeted enemy with his spear.
- "Dismount & Fire" When the target is in range the soldier will dismount, go prone and fire his Lee-Enfield SMLE 1907 rifle.

All this may look very pretty but it is nothing when it's not ingame. We have a great problem out here since we do no have an animator to do this. Also we have a hell lot of planes (around 25 ATM that will be 50 in total) that also need animation in order to get ingame.

So with this post i want to give a cry for help:

Is there an animator who would like to help us?

An animator is fital for us, without one we could asswel just stop it right now. :/
